Boys tennis is back at Friday Harbor High School
After a couple of quiet seasons on the tennis courts, Friday Harbor High School fielded a determined boys tennis team this year thanks to a group of tenacious parents and a flexible athletics program. Ten boys turned out for the team, which got a late start but managed to extend their outdoor season thanks to a remarkably sunny October.
According to new coach, Kyle Loring, “most of the boys hadn’t played a lot of tennis before joining the team, but they brought a lot of enthusiasm for the game and camaraderie for the team. We gained momentum throughout the season and we’re looking forward to returning a group of committed players to the courts next fall.”
The Wolverines played in one match against Coupeville, and anticipate a full season in 2019. The team will hold an informational meeting in Spring 2019.
