Friday Harbor boys rout La Conner, advance to consolation final - Feb. 16, 2017
Friday Harbor routed La Conner 54-30 in boys basketball Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2017 at Sedro-Woolley High School. The Wolverines advance to the Class 2B District 1/2 Tournament consolation final at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Sedro-Woolley where they will play against Seattle Lutheran. The winner of that loser-out game moves on to the state tourney.
The Wolverines were up 22-16 at the half. They out-scored the Braves 12-3 to build a 15-point lead at the start fourth quarter.
Friday Harbor’s John Gustafson led all scorers with 12 points. Eli Cooper-West chipped in 11 and Jake Lowe contributed 10. Friday Harbor’s other scorers were: Rio Black 8, Simon Vincent 4, Marshall Clark 4, Joe Stewart 3 and Lucas Chevalier 2.
Brady Nelson led La Conner with 10. The Braves’ other scorers were: Budda Luna 8, Cooper Zavala 5, Jeffrey Johnson 3, Scottie Miller 2 and Khalid Al-Dossari 2.
