Friday Harbor hoop teams play state tourney’s first round at Mount Vernon Feb. 27

Fans of the Friday Harbor High School’s boys and girls basketball teams won’t have a long trip to see the Wolverines compete in the Class 2B Hardwood Classic Regionals -- both squads will play Saturday, Feb. 27 at Mount Vernon High School. The boys face Ocosta at 2 p.m. and the girls host Wahkiakum at 4 p.m. Regional winners advance to elite-eight competition March 3-5 in Spokane.
