Friday Harbor 5th/6th SWISH team brings home the Championship trophy

The 5th/6th grade boys Tigers Swish Basketball Team completed their season Saturday by defeating Sedro Woolley and Platform Hoops in the league tournament. Orcas Island High School and Middle School now have track teams

According to the Orcas Island Booster Club, Track & Field is now an official Orcas Island High School Spring Sport. Registration is open to all Middle and High School Athletes. Practices begin in February for High School, and in March for Middle School. Must sign up via Final Forms and be sure to have an updated Physical on file.

Wolverines slay Dragons in shootout; Friday Harbor and Orcas Island boys to battle for soccer state crown

Friday Harbor slayed St. George’s 2-1 after winning a shootout in the Class 1B/2B Boys Soccer State Semifinal Friday, Nov. 18. The Wolverines (14-2) will next battle cross-water rival and defending champion Orcas Island (16-2) in the title match at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Renton Memorial Stadium.

“It feels pretty dang good. It feels really, really good,” Friday Harbor coach Brett Paul said of the victory over Spokane soccer powerhouse. “Not only being in the state championship, but that second half was the best brand of soccer we’ve played all season.”

Friday Harbor, Orcas Island each a win away from state soccer title showdown

 

Island soccer fans are two wins from an ultimate showdown – Friday Harbor and Orcas Island high schools battling in the Class 1B/2B State Final in Renton this weekend.

“It certainly will be something if we play them again in a couple of weeks,” Friday Harbor coach Brett Paul said after the Wolverines trimmed the Vikings in an eight-shot shootout for the District Bi-District crown on November 5, 2022.
