Girls Tennis: Friday Harbor High School home match

A late-running ferry meant Sedro Woolley High School Girls Tennis team had only enough time for an eight-game pro set format match with Friday Harbor High Friday, May 1, 2015. The Cubs beat the Wolverines 3-2.  The Wolverines # 1 and #2 singles won their matches. Isabel Gabriel, filling in as Friday Harbor's #2 singles, fought back after dropping the first few games.

Sedro Wolley's top three doubles teams won their matches.

FHHS Coach Laura Genuich said, "Our #1 JV team of Nayaleah Tucker-Belt and Mia McMillan did a fantastic job cinching their first win of the season in a close contest winning 9-8. Our # 2 JV team Madeline King and Morgan Timmons had a decisive victory 8-0.

Wednesday, April 29, 2015 the Wolverines played Coupeville. The Wolves beat the Wolverines 5 to 1. Coach Genuich said Friday Harbor's one win was team captain Ashton Timmons' gutsy victory in three sets against the Wolves #1 singles Jacki Ginniger.

The Wolverines next and last home match is Wednesday, May 6 against Granite Falls.
