Friday Harbor blanks La Conner in home football opener

Friday Harbor blanked La Conner 14-0 in a home opener Friday, Sept. 22. With the first win over the Braves in several seasons, Brock Hauck posted his first victory as the Wolverines' head football coach.

The Braves' and Wolverines' offenses spent most of the game in the middle of the field until junior running back Emron Geiser broke free on a 52-yard touchdown run with three minutes, 48 seconds to go. Friday Harbor forced a fumble on La Conner's ensuing possession and Emron rambled 32 yards for the Wolverines' second TD with 2:22 remaining. Freshman Milo Geiser booted the PATs.

Friday Harbor's 14 points matched the number of Wolverines suited up for the game.
