Tough day for Wolverines at playoffs

Wolverine Football, boys soccer and girls soccer all are headed home after their seasons ended Saturday, November 16 with defeats at the state playoffs. Friday Harbor High School's undefeated football team lost 19-14. Girls soccer lost 4-2 and boys soccer lost 5-1. 

Friday Harbor and Lake Roosevelt High School had both limited their opponents to less than 10 points per game this season. The Raiders beat the Wolverines 19-14 in the opening-round contest in the Class 2B State Football Tournament at Lake Roosevelt High School at 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 16.

Friday Harbor boys soccer lost to perennial powerhouse St. George’s High School 5-1 in the Class 1B/2B State Quarterfinal at 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 16.

 Onalaska beat Friday Harbor girls soccer 4-2 in a Class 1B/2B State Quarterfinal at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 16 at Centralia High School.
