Sept. 7-10: Original Works Project at SJCT
The Original Works Project presents a weekend showcase of 10-minute plays by local writers. The plays are presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 through Saturday, Sept. 9 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017. All tickets $15 and can be purchased online or at the box office.
An imaginative mix of styles and stories, these plays all center around this year's theme: "It Happened in the Park." Featuring local actors and directors, the plays are the culmination of SJCT's summer-long playwriting intensive.
Also included is an original play created by high school students through the Young Playwrights for Change Program. This project is presented with the support of the National Park Service.
The project features playwrights John Aschoff, Shannon Borg, Mike Buettell, Carrie Jewett, Diana Mancel, Cinda Pierce, Susan Reed, Tawan Shaller, Jan Zurcher and Jim Zurcher.
Tyler Ryan is the project coordinator.
A special readers theatre will be presented at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9 in the Gubelman room. These are never-before-seen short plays. This event is free. Seating available on first-come, first-served basis.
