Friday Harbor's Clark, Rock each qualify for two races at state track meet
Friday Harbor’s McKenna Clark and Lily Rock each qualified for two races at the state meet after high finishes at the Class 2B Tri-District Track and Field Championships at WF West High School in Chehalis Friday, May 20, 2022.

Rock placed second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13 minutes, 27.16 seconds. In the 1600, the junior finished fourth with a personal best of 6:01.80. She came in eighth in the 800 in 2:51.09 and narrowly missed qualifying for a third state event.
Clark sprinted to fourth-place in the 200 in :28.29. The sophomore finished fifth in the 100 in :13.80.
The Wolverine runners will be traveling to Eastern Washington University in Cheney for the Class 2B State Championships May 26-28.
Four Friday Harbor boys also competed at Tri-District. Their place, events and times or marks are:
— Junior Mason Clark, 11. Triple jump 35-11 (PR), 14. High jump 5-2;
— Sophomore Elian Bayas, 13. Shot put 34-10.5;
— Sophomore Noah Rovente 12. 1600 5:01.26 (PR);
— Freshman Kade Waite, 10. Long jump.17-8.
