Friday Harbor parade winners announced

The judges, Mark Madsen, Christine and Patrick Minney had the difficult job of selecting the winners among the 60+ entries in the 2017 Fourth of July Parade in Friday Harbor. The prizes for the parade, sponsored by the San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce,  are: 

Best Vehicle: Kenmore Air

Best Off Island: Canoe Island French Club

Best Animal/Animal Group: Yacht Haven Farm

Best Costumed Group: San Juan Community Theatre

Judges Special Choice: The Orca Protectors

Best Use of THEME Non-float: Rotary Club

Best Use of THEME Float: Animal Protection Society

Best Use of THEME Children/Youth: Salish Sea Ballet (video posted below)
