64 graduate from Friday Harbor High School June 11

San Juan Island School District Superintendent Danna Diaz, Friday Harbor High School Principal Fred Woods, and School Board Chair June Arnold handed out diplomas and congratulated the sixty-four members of FHHS Class of 2016 as they crossed the stage Saturday evening.
The 104th Friday Harbor High School Graduation Ceremony took place in Turnbull Gym Saturday, June 11, 2016. ASB President Samantha Finch welcomed the friends, family and community members followed by presentation of the class history by seniors Jess Hargrove and Jesse Kolowitz. Salutatorian Fiona Sutherland presented "Hard Work". Co-Valedictorians Echo Wood and Alexis Galt presented "Rivers" and "And Roads" respectively. Lights dimmed as the slideshow, coordinated by Hannah Hopkins, Alexa Mora and Cady Wilson, garnered oohs and aahs.
Representatives of community organizations and businesses handed out numerous scholarships. After the newly minted graduates tossed their mortar boards into the air, everyone proceeded outside to begin the celebrations.
