Dear Editor,

On February 13, 2024, the San Juan Island School District is asking our community to renew the Capital Projects and Technology Levy for four years. This levy provides much needed funding for safety improvements, major facility repairs, and technology equipment and support. This request extends the Capital and Technology Levy approved by San Juan Island voters in 2020.

The success of our public school district is intricately linked to the unwavering support it receives from residents. The San Juan Island community consistently demonstrates tremendous support for our local schools. We request that you continue to demonstrate your commitment by voting 'Yes' on the renewal of our Capital Projects and Technology Levy for San Juan Island Schools.

As your dedicated Board of Directors for San Juan Island School District, we are committed to ensuring the future of our schools and the students who make our community so vibrant. Submitting a levy request to appear on a ballot for community approval is a responsibility we take seriously. We have put a thoughtful and deliberate effort into ensuring that the decisions we make reflect the best interests of our students, families, and the community as a whole. Your trust in us is invaluable and every decision is approached with care and consideration.

As your Board of Directors, we understand the importance of being responsible stewards of the funds allocated to our schools. We are committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that every dollar is invested wisely to benefit our students and enhance the overall educational experience. This levy will fund improvements in educational facilities and additionally, we aim to provide up-to-date technological opportunities, ensuring that our students are equipped with the tools they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

Our schools play an integral role in shaping the future of our community and your support is crucial in making this vision a reality. Voting in favor of the renewal of our Capital and Technology Levy for San Juan Island Schools is an investment in the education of our children, contributing to the continued growth and prosperity of San Juan Island.
