ECLIPSE! Mercury Still Retrograde in Aries, Mars and Saturn Conjoin in Pisces on Tuesday, Wednesday; Jupiter and Uranus Conjunct in Taurus

I’m so glad the eclipse is finally here, I’ve never witnessed such a fuss being made over one in all my life! Yes it’s a significant event, but holy moley, the conspiracy theories, news coverage daily counting down, advice about closing schools, etc. is just insane! Anyway…the eclipse is in Aries and here in our area we will see about 18% of it. You’ve already seen the path through the United States so I won’t go into that. It will begin at 10:41 a.m. local time and end at 12:20 p.m.

Mercury continues to retrograde in Aries as well, and will be completely out of retrograde on the 26th.

Mars and Saturn conjoin exactly on Tuesday and Wednesday in Pisces and this particular conjunction sparks frustration and anger due to breaking of boundaries and no real way to express the anger appropriately. Fortunately, it’s a fast transit.

Jupiter and Uranus are just two degrees apart in Taurus and this conjunction is delightful as it uses Jupiter’s gaiety and abundance with Uranus’ element of surprise and packages it all into unexpected opportunities and financial gain. This will continue for pretty much the rest of the month.

Keep looking up, stay healthy, and…

Keep looking after each other!

Aries (March 21- April 19):  What with Mercury being retrograde in your sign and your Ruler Mars coming up to conjoin Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Endings/New Beginnings), it’s been pretty intense for you. This conjunction will take place early in the week and may have you in a foul mood, but wait! Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus are coming to the rescue in your sector of Finances/Resources by conjoining there. Since they move much slower, this conjunction will take longer and will open up new opportunities for you financially or other ways. So, the beginning of the week may be a bit rough, but it will smooth out nicely. Oh yes, and the eclipse! Well, it’s in your sign, so you’re the star of the show!

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Of course it’s all about the eclipse, isn’t it? Well, it’s in Aries and occurs in your sector of Endings/New Beginnings. This sector is already very active for you anyway, since four planets (not including the Moon) are occupying it. The eclipse will add an extra buzz. In the meantime, Mercury is still retrograde in Aries and over in Pisces land we have Mars and Saturn conjoined early in the week (your sector of Friends/Goals). This could create some haggling between you and others to the point of anger, so be careful. Jupiter and Uranus in your sign are very close together as well and this brings about expansion and sudden surprises of a good kind, like a show of abundance.

Gemini (May 21-June 20):  It’s eclipse day! The eclipse is in Aries and is all the rage, in case you hadn’t noticed. It occurs in your already busy sector of Friends/Goals, so your social life is buzzing and you may get easily overwhelmed these days. The bugaboo we have going on besides retrograde Mercury in Aries) is Mars conjoining Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Career/Social Standing) early in the week. This may make some waves for you emotionally as someone may try to steal your gig and overstep a boundary with you, angering you. You may not have an appropriate outlet for that anger. What’s helping is Jupiter coming up to conjoin Uranus in Taurus (your sector of Endings/New Beginnings), creating new opportunities seemingly out of nowhere and in abundance for a period of time.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22):  It’s eclipse day and you’re one of the sensitive types that is likely to feel it whether or not you’re in the path of totality. It occurs in Aries, your sector of Career/Social Standing and since the effect of a total eclipse lasts for six months, look for changes in that area of your life. Mercury is still retrograde in Aries and we have a problem in Pisces (your sector of Expansion/Travel) as well with Mars and Saturn conjoining early in the week. It appears that someone may try to put the kibosh on a plan you have, overstepping a boundary and making you pretty angry about it. At the same time, Jupiter and Uranus are traveling close together in Taurus (your sector of Friends/Goals) so it’s likely you’ll not only emerge triumphant, an opportunity will fall out of the situation for you.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): At last, eclipse day has arrived and the eclipse takes place in Aries, your sector of Expansion/Travel. This bodes well for you if you’re journeying to see the eclipse. If not, you’ll likely feel a blip on the radar today whether or not you actually witness the event. What does it have in store for you? Look six months down the road, so October. Mercury is still retrograde in Aries and in Pisces (your sector of Work, Health) we have Mars and Saturn conjoining early in the week, sparking anger issues. On the other hand, Jupiter and Uranus are traveling close together in Taurus (your sector of Career/Social Standing) and this brings you unexpected opportunities and abundance.

Virgo (August 23 – September 21):  At last, it’s eclipse day! The eclipse is in Aries and its effect will be felt in October even if you feel it now. Retrograde Mercury is also in Aries (your sector of Partnership) and with a few other planets in that sector, it’s buzzing right now! You may feel pulled in several directions right now. Mars and Saturn conjoin in Pisces (your sector of Relationship) early in the week and this could spark anger issues in your significant relationship. There is a wonderful conjunction going on between Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus too (your sector of Expansion/Travel) that brings unexpected opportunities your way over the coming weeks.

Libra (September 22 – October 23):  The eclipse in Aries is in your sector of Relationship as is retrograde Mercury; this makes for an intense beginning of the week! We also have Mars conjoining Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Work/Health) early in the week and this indicates anger around someone disrespecting your boundaries and pushing you too far. What’s working well is Jupiter and Uranus traveling close together in Taurus (your sector of Partnership), creating unexpected gains and opportunities involving abundance.

Scorpio (October 24-November 22 – December 20):  Finally, eclipse day is here and we don’t have to hear about it anymore! It occurs in Aries (your sector of Work/Health) and retrograde Mercury is there as well. There may be some quirky things going on in that area of your life right now. Mars and Saturn form a conjunction early in the week in Pisces (your sector of Creative Expression/Children) and it’s a cantankerous alignment, spurring anger around boundaries being violated. At the same time, Jupiter and Uranus are traveling very close together in Taurus (your sector of Relationship), so you and your S/O can look forward to unexpected opportunities and some financial gain in the coming weeks.

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Today’s eclipse is in Aries, your sector of Creative Expression/Children. Retrograde Mercury is there as well. It isn’t the best time for your creative impetus due to dumb stuff going wrong. Early in the week, Mars conjoins Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Home). This may spark anger within your family if someone oversteps a boundary. On the better side, your Ruler Jupiter is very close to Uranus in Taurus (your sector of Work/Health). This brings unexpected surprises and abundance and support your way in the coming weeks.

Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): Finally, the eclipse arrives and we don’t have to hear about it anymore! It occurs in Aries, your sector of Home, where retrograde Mercury is happening. This pairing of events sounds kind of spooky, doesn’t it? The quirkiness factor is high, and your sector of Home is filled with Aries planets at the moment so there’s a lot of energy around there. You need some rest, Cappie! At the beginning of the week, Mars and Saturn conjoin in Pisces (your sector of Thinking/Communication) and this may precipitate a fit of anger over someone crossing a boundary. At the same time, Jupiter and Uranus are traveling close together in Taurus (your sector of Creative Expression/Children) and this brings you unexpected surprises of a good kind as well as financial gain of some kind in the coming weeks.

Aquarius (January 21 - February 20): It’s eclipse day in Aries (your sector of Thinking/Communicating) and retrograde Mercury is there too, to it’s kind of a double whammy sort of beginning to the week. We also have Mars conjunct Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Finances/Resources) early in the week and this could spark an argument over someone crossing a boundary. Enough of the icky stuff, the good news is that Jupiter and your Ruler Uranus in Taurus (your sector of Home) are traveling very close together, bringing merriment, unexpected surprises and abundance your way over the next few weeks. This is good!

Pisces (February 21 – March 20): The eclipse is finally here and everybody can finally see it (or not) and stop talking about it! It occurs in Aries (your sector of Finances/Resources), where retrograde Mercury is as well. Watch your bank balance! Early this week Mars and Saturn in your sign conjoin and this is an angry making conjunction, so you may be out of sorts for a few days until midweek. The good news is that Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus (your sector of Thinking/Communication) are traveling very close together and preparing to shower you with unexpected surprises and abundance in the coming couple of weeks. Prepare to be delighted!

Who is Triana?

Triana is a professional astrologer and amateur astronomer who has had a lifelong love for the stars and planets, mythology, philosophy and science.

Due to her mother’s interest in astrology and metaphysics, Triana had access to a large library growing up and cut her teeth on Aesop’s Fables, a set of the Classics that her grandfather gave her and Greek mythology. By the time she was in the 6th grade she was playing with astrology and reading charts for her friends at school.

Upon completing her university studies in biochemistry, Triana relocated to the United Kingdom in 1988 and began to study the patterns of the stars recorded in the landscape of Great Britain in the form of stone monuments. Using survey maps and a compass, Triana made her way from the islands of Scotland down to Cornwall and made good use of British astrology books and astrological groups and congresses led by the top astrologers of the 20th century. By the time she was 35, Triana’s own style of interpreting the angles and aspects of the planets began to emerge. She began to receive serious attention in the UK for her astrological prowess and she flourished.

In 1996 Triana found success in writing weekly horoscopes through a small newspaper on Lopez Island, WA. Fairly quickly her name spread and her clientele increased, enabling her to travel to different places in Washington State to give presentations and conduct personal readings. Her clientele spanned from the UK to Canada as well as the United States. Visitors came to Lopez Island from afar as she herself became a destination in the islands.

Triana has been featured on television, radio and in newspapers in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the UK.

Her weekly column can be found on sanjuanislander.com and she can be reached at triana.elan@gmail.com.
