Mars, Venus Conjoin in Aquarius, Square Jupiter in Taurus; Saturn in Pisces Sextile Jupiter in Taurus; Mercury Enters Taurus on Friday; Full Moon in Virgo on Saturday

Sorry for no column last week. You see, I have Lupus. All of the Super Bowl excitement I got into over that weekend triggered a flare that lasted five days, hence I couldn’t leave the couch/bed for anything other than the essentials. It happens every once in a while. Thank you for your concern.

This week we have Mars and Venus conjoined in Aquarius, an electric event where things really pop. This is somewhat afflicted due to the pair being in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus. Normally such a square isn’t that big of a deal but this is a square between Fixed signs and putting Taurus and Aquarius together equals the Irresistible Force meeting the Immovable Object. Hence, the impulsiveness that stems from this alignment can be destructive.

The silver lining is that Saturn in Pisces is in a lovely alignment to Jupiter and this takes the edge off of the above. Saturn and Jupiter act as a soothing balm in this case.

Each of us will react differently to this transit; it depends on where it falls in your own birth chart, but I’ve outlined them here in the column according to our sun signs. If you know your rising sign, read that too, as it always adds an extra dimension.

Keep looking up, stay healthy, and…

Keep looking after each other!

Aries (March 21- April 19): Your Ruler Mars and Venus are traveling together in Aquarius now (your sector of Friends/Goals) and normally this would mean a rousing good time but they are at a difficult angle to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Finances/Resources). This could lead to impulsive behavior on someone’s part that, while sounding good at the time, isn’t really a good idea and deserves a second or third look before leaping. Thankfully, Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Endings/New Beginnings) is in a nice angle to Jupiter and will help put the brakes on before any damage is done.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Mars and your Ruler Venus are traveling together in Aquarius in your sector of Career/Social Standing. Normally this would bring you lots of sparkles and fun, but the pair is afflicted in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in your sign. This may lead to uncharacteristic impatience or impulsive behavior. You may feel tense this week. The good news is that Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Friends/Goals) is acting as a balm and is in a favorable alignment to Jupiter, helping you calm down. Deep breaths will help you this week.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): Venus and Mars are traveling through your fellow air sign Aquarius (your sector of Travel/Expansion) together, filling you with energy, but alas, the pair is in a difficult alignment with Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Endings/New Beginnings). This may make you careless, leading to mistakes and having to do do-overs. Fortunately, Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Career/Social Standing) is in a good alignment to Jupiter and gives you the patience to deal with the former.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Mars and Venus are traveling through Aquarius as a pair, creating glitter and sparkles as they go in your sector of Partnership. The gaiety is stunted by a difficult angle to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Friends/Goals). It may feel like others are holding you back and you may become impatient and snippy. Saturn is on your side though in Pisces (your sector of Expansion/Travel), in a good alignment to Jupiter, This acts as a balm and helps you discern what’s really going on before you tell someone off.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): Venus and Mars are traveling in Aquarius (your sector of Relationship) as a pair, and Mercury is also in that sector. The pair is in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Career/Social Standing), and this may trigger impulsive behavior on your part in terms of your relationship with your S/O or closest friend. You will want to look before you leap, however. Fortunately, Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Partnership is in a nice alignment to Jupiter and this calms you down and gives structure to your feelings, so things will likely be kept to a low roar.

Virgo (August 23 – September 21):Venus and Mars are traveling in a pair through Aquarius (your sector of Work/Health) and are in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Expansion//Travel). This may trigger some ideas of dropping the job to travel or do a walkabout; fine if you’ve thought it out and have a financial safety net, but not so good if it’s an impulsive decision. Any impulse now should be scrutinized. Helping you is Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Relationship) in a good alignment to Jupiter. This helps you gain insight through your S/O or very closest relationships to help you make good decisions.

Libra (September 22 – October 23): Your Ruler Venus and Mars are traveling together as a pair in your fellow air sign Aquarius (your sector of Creative Expression), energizing your mind with innovative ways to spend your creative energy. The pair is in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Partnership), so any impulsive move on your part should be thought over before being acted upon; you hate do-overs! Fortunately, Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Work/Health) is in a nice alignment to Jupiter, so there will be in-depth decision-making involved before things go crazy.

Mars and Venus are traveling in Aquarius (your sector of Home) as a pair, energizing your home space and family. The pair is in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Relationship), so any “Let’s go for it!” decisions should be reexamined before being acted upon during this transit. Fortunately, Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Creative Expression is in a good alignment with Jupiter and with structure, you can go for it as long as you have the earth under your feet!

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Venus and Mars are traveling together through Aquarius as a pair (your sector of Thinking/Communication) and they are in a difficult alignment to your Ruler Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Partnership). You’ll have to hold your tongue during this transit, even though you’re famous for opening your mouth only to change feet sometimes. Think before you speak now. Fortunately, Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Home) is in a good alignment to Jupiter and this increases your empathy, which will prevent some social blunders.

Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): Venus and Mars are moving through Aquarius (your sector of Finances/Resources) as a pair now, and they are in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Creative Expression). If you’re involved in a creative endeavor of some kind, refrain from being impulsive (selling/buying too high or low, purchasing expensive supplies on a whim) during this transit. In fact, this applies to all impulses. Your Ruler Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Thinking/Communication) is in a good alignment to Jupiter and this helps you slow down and consider what you’re doing.

Aquarius (January 21 - February 20): Venus and Mars are in your sign as a pair now, and they are in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Home). This can lead to impulsive decisions, so use caution during this transit and impulses should be reconsidered at least once. Saturn in Pisces (your sector of Finances/Resources) comes to your aid being in a good alignment to Jupiter, so you have the stability and structure to put off an impulse, giving you time to see if it’s really a good idea or not.

Pisces (February 21 – March 20): Venus and Mars are paired and in Aquarius (your sector of Endings/New Beginnings) and are in a difficult alignment to Jupiter in Taurus (your sector of Thinking/Communication). This may prompt you to impulsively bring up things from past in conversations where doing so is not appropriate. Under this transit, you’ll want to think before you speak. Saturn in your sign is in a lovely alignment to Jupiter and this gives you the structure and expansion to come from a more grounded level of conversation. I doubt you’ll miss a beat, really.

Who is Triana?

Triana is a professional astrologer and amateur astronomer who has had a lifelong love for the stars and planets, mythology, philosophy and science.

Due to her mother’s interest in astrology and metaphysics, Triana had access to a large library growing up and cut her teeth on Aesop’s Fables, a set of the Classics that her grandfather gave her and Greek mythology. By the time she was in the 6th grade she was playing with astrology and reading charts for her friends at school.

Upon completing her university studies in biochemistry, Triana relocated to the United Kingdom in 1988 and began to study the patterns of the stars recorded in the landscape of Great Britain in the form of stone monuments. Using survey maps and a compass, Triana made her way from the islands of Scotland down to Cornwall and made good use of British astrology books and astrological groups and congresses led by the top astrologers of the 20th century. By the time she was 35, Triana’s own style of interpreting the angles and aspects of the planets began to emerge. She began to receive serious attention in the UK for her astrological prowess and she flourished.

In 1996 Triana found success in writing weekly horoscopes through a small newspaper on Lopez Island, WA. Fairly quickly her name spread and her clientele increased, enabling her to travel to different places in Washington State to give presentations and conduct personal readings. Her clientele spanned from the UK to Canada as well as the United States. Visitors came to Lopez Island from afar as she herself became a destination in the islands.

Triana has been featured on television, radio and in newspapers in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the UK.

Her weekly column can be found on sanjuanislander.com and she can be reached at triana.elan@gmail.com.
