Double fatality car crash on Orcas Island August 22

San Juan County Deputies responding to a 5:41 am call Tuesday, August 22, 2023 reporting a single-vehicle accident on Crow Valley Road near the Pleasure Horse Road intersection on Orcas Island discovered that both the driver and passenger had died.

Crow Valley Road was closed from Island Hardware to Nordstrom Road for the vehicle accident investigation. San Juan County Sheriff's Office and Orcas Island Fire & Rescue were on scene. 

The road was opened by 8 am.

An investigation to confirm the victims' identities and to notify family members is underway.
